"We have an abundance of border states from which to draw players if we avail ourselves of our fluidity and keep our lottery vibrant."
Well, that'll be a switch after hearing about folks "going to the boat" and such for years. Bring on the money.

Oh, and rein in the cost of a college education. It's gotten ridiculous. Tuition AND THE FEES! And the books! Ye gods! Funny thing is, there was a time when the monthly gas bill to get to and from classes was higher than pro-rated tuition costs.
No wonder a young friend decided to continue her "career" as a waitress after she graduated. She is drowning in loan payments and waitressing pays much better than the offers she's gotten, if you can believe that. Of course, the major problem there is little or no prospect for advancement.
Have tuition costs increased at about the same rate elsewhere, or are we simply blessed?

On Mr. Brummett's column BLrzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt! If that's not how you spell it, John. Too bad. It was a well deserved raspberry.
