Remember how many times and over how many years Republicans told us that we needed to run government like a business, meaning business could do everything government could do but at a lower cost? When did that line morph into the current one, a 180-degree U-turn, that it is unfair to allow government to do something like provide health care because business can't do it as cheaply as government?

Any of you Republican posters want to explain how both of the above can be true? Senator Al Franken got it right- you guys are such lying liars.

Just totally amazed at how many local blueberry farms have been developed away in the past 15 years. Shame. I now must drive an additional 10 mi to find a good farm. Prices have almost doubled in 10 years but I'm glad new blueberry farmers are giving it a go. $12 gallon now and well worth it.

I don't think any troop withdrawal has occurred yet. Troops are being redeployed out of urban areas but the total of 131,000 troops remains the same. The big question is: what will Obama do if the Iraqis can't hold down the urban violence?

I know you're a leading progressive voice in NW Arkansas, but is that really how you see it? Basically, that BHO didn't wave a wand to grant gay marriage and that gay advocates are pissed?

I'm certainly not speaking for Norma, but as a gay female I would like to see "baby steps'' taken by our president toward that end. If DADT is repealed, I'll be jumping for joy. If DOMA is repealed, I'll streak to Fort Smith and give DBI a french kiss on his right ass cheek.

I think bone scans and stuff are pretty much standard operating procedure. I had bone scans, brain scans, and all sorts of stuff when my first cancer was found. Nothing showed to have spread or metastasized, but they have to check.

Just finished an OUTSTANDING bowl of EXPENSIVE fresh luscious cherries. They were worth every dollar, however...as is all the fresh seasonal and beautiful fruit/vegetables/berries. And the okra plants I stuck here/there (for the first time) are huge/healthy and loaded; then there's the flowers...ah. It'll be awhile before my first moonflower blooms...always a highlight of my summers. (It's this stuff that gets me through the bad crap...like jazzy's sick hubby...my son half way across the universe...still missing my beloved dog, Lucky...the aches/pains...so many sick/uninsured struggling folks)

I didn't vote for BHO. I voted a Green ticket. BHO isn't much different, if any,
from Bill Clinton who was Republican Lite. Both toss tokens to gays and do that
very niggardly.

As for you and partner getting legally married it's not going to happen in Jesusland in your lifetime
without a SCOTUS decision in your favor. Never expect Congress to do it. That won't happen either. BHO cannot overrule DOMA, only Congress can and will bet you my last gold SPDR that's not going to happen. The hard Right may be in a minority but they are a majority when it comes to addressing sitting office holders. They are loud and organized and are skilled at grabbing the public microphone. I detest them more than I have words to express but truth is truth.

So presently your best chance for getting a SCOTUS member to rule in your favor is to support BHO's judicial nominees.

The only other way I can see for gay marriage to be legalized is for RRP* to see some way it would profit them. Presently they make too much money from the fundie Right who are such easy targets and have such handy strings to pull. If you are a RRP then you care little about what the laws are.
