Three cheers for Dick Cheney

He's right far less often than a broken clock. But today's an exception. In a speech, he endorsed gay marriage. (Noted belatedly: It's the state-by-state approach. But that still is a sharp divergence from the Republican base, who'd prefer law or amendment banning it everywhere, if not a return of criminalization of gay people. I'll credit him for a step in right direction.)

Great! Who's the lucky guy Dick the Great White Hunter is marrying? I guess mrs. cheney finally just couldnt take it any more.
;)

Oh, sure, now that he's no longer in office, has no power, and can't possibly be hurt politically, he's a big supporter. His daughter must be very proud.

OMG - the "End Times" MUST be near...!!! OR he's been invaded by the Gay Brain Transformers...RUN.

From what I read on HuffPo, he's only for it in states that have or will approve it by a voter majority. He's not for a Federal mandate of any kind.

As we all know, gay rights will never, ever be approved in any southern state by a voter majority. For that matter, no civil right of any kind would've been approved by any southern state by a voter majority.

A federal mandate is the only hope for gay folks living below the Mason-Dixon line.

Ohmygod! Dick Cheney has a bad case of 'empathy'. Call a doctor.

Bullshit.

Cheney has endorsed "states' rights" versus same-sex equality.

Which is to say, "Let's keep putting equality up for a referendum so the majority of religious bigots, state-by-state, can maintain their tax-exempt religious bigotry until the Feds and the Supreme Court finally teabag religious haters, like with Loving vs. Virginia."

Cheney sells his own daughter, her wife, and their innocent child up the river because they're lesbians -- state by state -- because he's a religious bigot and because it's politically expedient and because he HOPES it will deflect his history of repeated draft-dodging, lying to fan the flames of phony wars, approving illegal torture to cash in with Halliburton and Blackwater on a trumped-up war that's killed over 4,000 American troops and over 100,000 innocent human beings -- and he couldn't care less.

Cheney hasn't said or done ANYTHING supportive of same-sex equality. State-by-state can legally enforce religious bigotry. Pre-Loving vs. Virginia. According to Dick.

We're supposed to believe that certain Americans are "equal" in some states but not others?

Don't give this opportunistic lying bigot credit he doesn't remotely deserve on any level.

Cheney cheapens and perverts everything he touches -- from his own daughter and grandchild to the U.S. Constitution.

So do those who support him.

Here's a guy whose life's been self-servingly devoted to spreading hate, misinformation, slander, religious bigotry and duplicity in the name of Jesus and Big Bucks.

If you believe in Jesus or America or our Constitution, Cheney's still spitting on all three.

THAT'S Cheney's malignant legacy to his own family and to America.

That's Cheney's epitaph.

That's Cheney's entire life.

Lies, Hate, Mercenary Genocidal Incompetence.

Heart problems all his life?

Heart problems?

Heart?

Have you ever met him?

To know, know, know him is to loathe, loathe, loathe him.

I have revisted cheney's speach/video and at no time did he say he supported gay marriage --lots of double talk nothing more.

We have seen in the past how the "state by state" approach worked on the slavery vs. equality/liberty/etc.

100 years of legal bondage then 100 years of de facto bondage.

His daughter should be ashamed.

GREAT post, Norma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
