Fayetteville judge to step down

Circuit Judge Mike Mashburn of Fayetteville announced today that he would step down Aug. 10 for health reasons. He'd been re-elected to the bench in 2008 following recovery from a stroke that prompted his early retirement in 2007, but his health had been called into question recently, including byerratic behavior that had prompted a judicial review.

Gov. Beebe will appoint a replacement.
