Mixed signals
U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln's campaign takes pains to note that a Benton County Democratic Party picnic Saturday is not a public health care event, as it was described in press materials from the Obama administration organization working for health care reform.
Jeez, what a cluster****.
What if some 'baggers are willing to pay the admission fee to the picnic? Will party membership cards and loyalty oaths also be required? (Tickets are $10, or $5 without meal.)
(This isn't the first OFA snafu, by the way.)
LINCOLN CAMPAIGN NEWS RELEASE
LITTLE ROCK – Senator Blanche Lincoln’s campaign issued a statement today from manager Steve Patterson attempting to clarify an erroneous email by a national organization that she is staging a “health care public event” in Rogers, AR on Saturday, August 15.
“An email dispatched to Arkansans by a Washington-based group called Organizing for America incorrectly describes Saturday’s annual Benton County Democratic Rally as a “Health Care Public Event”. Senator Lincoln is pleased that she was invited by the Benton County Democrats to attend their annual rally, formerly known as the Little Flock Picnic, which is an annual fund raiser for the Benton County Democratic Party Committee. The event has been posted for the last two weeks on our campaign’s website Events Center as a Democratic Party rally. http://blancheforsenate.com/home/ She will be capping a full week of appearances in all regions of the state where she has interacted with Arkansans about health care, the economy and many other issues. The Benton County Democrats have planned this event for months and Senator Lincoln believes it is unfortunate that the erroneous email by Organizing for America has misstated its purpose. We have contacted representatives of the organization and requested that they email the same list to correct the record.”

Democrats are like roachs shine the light of truth on them and they go scurrying back to the hole they came from.

quarterhorse99....your comments show what is wrong with this country in general. Nothing in this post shows Democrats trying to hide from the truth. If anything Democrats are telling the truth. But like some Jim Joneser you just spout poison and think you are speaking truth. Hell has a special level for people like you.

If David Axelrod still has a job by Christmas, then you can stick a fork in the Obama administration. There's a reason political campaigners don't stick around for the business of governing - they aren't worth a pile of used beans at it, just ask James Carville.

Oh yeah, Tea Baggers like quarterhorse are going to be sure and follow Blanche's rules for picnic attendance. You can bet they'll show up to the picnic ahead of the ants. And as someone who is less than satisfied with the performance of all 6 of Arkansas's DC representatives, I get to sit here in my boxers and chuckle.
Our reps deserve any indignity these Tea Baggers throw at them because with their words and votes all 6 of our representatives helped create these rude asshats. By Bush-ing out for 8 years they gave the crazies credibility and strength to be the pain in the ass of society they are today. By being "centrists" our Democrats have alienated true Democrats while attracting a large following of armed wingnut Bible-beaters who in the end hate Lincoln, Pryor, Boozman, Ross, Snyder & Berry even more than we do. No ones happy. We'd all like a chance to give em a secret sucker punch if we got the chance.
Oh well....hope all that corporate money is worth the danger they're in today. It won't be too long before a crazed Tea Bagger shoots a member of Congress. We've seen the build up...guns falling out of coats, and crazy people walking in with guns strapped to their legs.....it's only a matter of time. No one know which member of Congress will take the first bullet. Might be Pennsylvania, might be Arkansas......we're playing a twisted lottery with someone's brain matter, just hide and watch.
I lay in bed at night and dream of a giant trap door that I could spring and dump all 538 members of Congress in one blow. We could start over and it would give us a few years before Big Business got their hooks planted in all of them. But as an adult I realize that idea is as crazy as death panels killing granny.
But to our representatives in Congress....good luck in the next few months, put on your bulletproof vests and it might be smart to wear some kind of helmet. Just remember these crazies screaming at you......you made them, you've served them, you are responsible for this whole mess. And if they shoot you down, you have no one to blame but yourself. Enjoy!

And qhorse? At least the Dems are letting in people with objections, unlike your party who subjected rally participants to loyalty oaths and arrested people because they wore the wrong T-shirt.

Amen, dbi. ". . . all 6 of our representatives helped create these rude a**hats . . ."
Although, I've noticed a few of the 541 (100 Senators, 435 voting representatives and 6 non-voting representatives) that actually seemed to be representing their constituents and upholding their oath while indulging in the usual self-aggrandizement and perquisite enjoying and enlarging.
P.S. If I'm in error on the numbers, please enlighten me.
P.P.S. Them "circle flies" don't even have to wonder about qh99.

Well Damn!
I put off my plans to attend the Harvest Festival.. ordered a cheap little video camera (overnight delivery) and wrote a few questions in case i could manage to get in line with baggers and ask one or two.
Now I find out it's not public, it costs money..and Blanche will just waltz through a bunch of picnic wits... taking no questions at large.
Just when you think they are going to try and play with the people.. they stab you in the back again.
Fuck that... I'm going to the Harvest Festival.
We need Greens and Independents to take on Blanche... Please!

Well, I know I am going. Blanche has been dodging the folks long enough, If she is confronted by the possibility of having to actually talk to the People, she changes venue.
Apparently, she has decided, since there may be protesters there, Brave Blanche has fled to Bella Vista.
What a political and intellectual coward. First she gets miffed when a letter writer in teh DemGazz points out she ignores the people, then she loses her cool with an elderly woman who questioned Blanche on CapN'Trade, now she is busy attending meetings, but only if they are sanitary and safe. just like Obama, the deck has to be pretty ehavily stacked before they will engage the People in any discussions. Heaven forbid she may have to answer tough questions, and that there will be people who will not faun and swoon in her presense. If she made the faintest pretense of concern, she would face the People.
Heck, Arlen Spectre is the lowest of the DC pile, yet he has enough backbones, if not intellect, to face the People.
Blanche's time, has GONE. Vote anyone in but her, she is an embarassment.
