Acxiom makes bid -- NOT

A Reuters report earlier today, quoting unnamed sources, said Little Rock-based Acxiom was bidding to acquire Info Group, a major data marketing firm. Could be a big deal in the data biz, my tipster on the original story said.

But then, an UPDATE:

Acxiom tells Reuters it has NOT made a bid.

Max, do you have another source besides the article at the link? That article from Reuters says --

"The sources also said that Acxiom Corp (ACXM.O) had also submitted a bid, although the company denied that.

"We have not made a bid," a spokesman for the company told Reuters."

Sorry for the confusion.

The original Reuters report quoted sources as saing Acxiom had made a bid. It updated the account to include Acxiom's denial and I inadvertently changed both links to show the updated account.
