Teacher of the Year

Vandy Nash, a fourth grade teacher at Indian Hills Elementary in North Little Rock, has just been presented the 2010 Teacher of the Year award of the state Department of Education at the Governor's Mansion gala. Which gives me an opportunity to post this story from the New York Times Magazine about one teacher's experience trying to make a difference in the Arkansas Delta.

Consider this open line No. 2.

I hope Patrick was able to turn his life around. sounds like he pretty much raised himself, doesnt it?

"I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner."

--Barack Obama, 11/5/06

Not only is your President so cold/clueless that he begins a press appearance on the heels of a massacre of his own troops with light banter, but he doesn't even know the difference between the Medal of Honor and the Presidential Medal of Freedom (the latter of which Obama awarded the esteemed Dr. Medicine Crow this year).

The man can't function without a teleprompter. If W had done anything close to this, we'd never hear the end of it--particularly on this site. Check out the Youtube video of this--it's painful to watch.

You can't make the Obama haters happy!

At least he didn't continue to read "My Pet Goat" for 8 minutes. He was invited to a group that probably wasn't aware of what was happening. I guess when you go to your MIL's house, you don't say "hi" when you get there but immediately start to tell gher about all the hate on this blog.

Can't you guys ever quit being so hateful! You need to go and get that "get Well" card for Beck.

Open Line? Okay.

How come "Christians" hate kids?

Just askin'.

Open line?

Catholics? CATHOLICS?

What're we? Germany in 1930?

Adeste fidelis.
