Tracking swine flu

Has it peaked? Maybe. But some are still predicting a third wave. The South specifically mentioned.

Comments

"The drop was clearly not caused by the swine flu vaccine drive, which has not gone as fast as the authorities had hoped because the vaccine seed strain grew so slowly."

This is the most frightening statement of all. For the last several years, supposedly our government has been getting ready for a major outbreak. The government doesn't make flu vaccine, it's made in the private sector in big pharma. Big pharma has again shown its inability to rise to the occasion, or it's purposely dragging its feet. All this despite the cries of "we're ready."

I've spent a lot of time study the 1918 epidemic. Scary stuff folks.

Bring it on! I am recovered after having a pretty mild case, so I hopefully won't or can't get it again.

I had planned on getting a swine flu shot when they became available, but won't worry about it now.
It is ridiculous and unacceptable that the US could not get enough of the vaccine made in time for flu season, however.

Meanwhile we can follow Col. Vasislita's advice-

Col. Sergiu Vasislita , chief doctor of Moldova's Defense Ministry, said the equivalent of a small onion and a couple of garlic cloves, considered in that country to boost the immune system, will be added to each soldier's daily diet to help ward off swine flu.
ADG, In the news, today.

Does Moldova rank above the US on the quality of their healthcare? Most civilized countries do.

Yes, but the intelligence "grade" of their politicians is equivalent.
