The Republican Devil in the Details
Except for the troubles caused by ole Adam in my loins, most of the rest of the problems in my life were caused by not reading the fine print. The devil indeed is in the details. Karl Rove knows us Americans too well. Herr Karl knows we're too busy to notice and too lazy to pay close attention. In the old days Democrats tried to steal elections by carting off the whole ballot box. Herr Karl figured out stealing 51% is all you ever ever ever need. In the old days bad guys had to round up a bunch of toughs to physically manipulate the votes to insure their guy won. You bought votes, voted the grave yard, changed the ballots, monkeyed with the totals, and in some cases in Arkansas set fire to the building to cover your trail. How 20th century!
Thanks to good people not too lazy to dig and dig and dig, people like those at Netcraft, epluribusmedia.org, and Cannonfire.blogspot.com the murky ways of Karl Rove are being exposed and even poor blind, deaf, dead Helen Keller can see that the RNC flat stole the 2004 election in the critical swing state of Ohio.
Ever heard of SMARTech Corp. of Chattanooga, TN? Ever heard of GovTech Solutions? Ever heard of Government Consulting Resources, Ltd? Well hell no! But if the Democrats in Congress, including our own Mark Pryor and Blanche Lincoln will pull their heads out, we'll all know these names and dozens of others because unbeknownst to America the Ohio elections of 2004 were privatized while we weren't looking. Yeah....loyal Bushies created and managed the software used in tallying and reporting the votes in the state of Ohio in 2004.
If that doesn't piss you off and make ya want to call out the dogs, it gets worse. The major bomb in this Ohio story is that at a critical time on election night 2004 the Ohio Secretary of States website was taken over by the RNC. Suddenly everything was switched from the IT server of the Secretary of State to the IT server of SMARTech Corp. And though I doubt you remember.....these are the same people who own the server and the software that hosts the gbw43. com White House email accounts used in the firing of 8 US Attorneys. You know the back channel email accounts Karl Rove used, the one with the 5 million deleted emails!!
I have an idea! The baseball world is debating over what to do with Barry Bonds. Long suspected of performance enhancing drug use, the anti-Barrys want to remove Bonds records and pretend he never touched a baseball. If they ever prove Bonds was doping, I'm in favor out of respect for Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, and Jolting Joe.....who broke records the hard way...without dope. I propose that after the crooked Bush administration is chased from office this next year, that we turn back the clock to the end of the Clinton administration. Remove every law, change of law, court order, treaty broken, environmental rule change, every appointment....you name it. Void the Patriot Act, dismantle Homeland Security.....In other words pretend that George W. Bush NEVER HAPPENED.
That is the quickest and easiest way to have a do-over and get this country back on track. We need to party like it's 1999 again. Bobby Ewing in the shower, Pam Ewing's dream. Blot out Bush-Cheney and start over. Read about the midnight switch of servers here.
Read a long damning thread on RNC controlled software used to steal the 2004 election in Ohio here.
Then scream bloody murder at Lincoln and Pryor until they do something!

thanks for the info DBI, i like the idea of "dreaming it away"
though i have to say that i am afraid that come the summer of 2010, political partisans of both stripes will be astonished at how little has changed.
damn shame it will be too.

Working for the Clampdown
worth the read (especially if Pryor voted FOR it)

Pryor did vote for the MCA
side note... after today's DOW performance, it seems, ironically, that the markets do better when 2nd term Administrations implode (87-88 post crash, 98-99-00 post impeachment, 06-07 so far)

We must remember that the Investor Class loves the War for Oil. Millions of Republicans have never made so much money so quick in their lives.
Big dollar signs are like paper, flag draped coffins are rock. Paper covers rock...the rich folks see no war, no treason, no problem...just keep that Dow up!

Now, if Rep John Conners who held such touching hearings when he was a minority party house member and is now Committee chair will get this ball bouncing...I can see Blackwell (Oh) swinging by the fall.
Conners hearing could concievably draw in our dearest Karl Rove. That should have the cameras rolling.
Go for it John !

Funny this surfaced in Billikenland when I had a little article set aside to read on it found via Alternet (link at my name). I am with Lwood on his hope for Conyers but the pursuit of RNC emails via the white house which both Waxman and Conyers are on now. If successful may be the fast track for bringing many of the guys and gals at the top, down.
I do wish congress would make anything but hand counted paper ballots illegal immediately. Because the risk for corruption is so high from so many angles, we dont need to wait on hearings.... time will tell but this is most disturbing indeed.
Remember it was Chuck Hagel republican soon to be Senator NE, who first owned Diebold.

I view this election rigging in terms of ownership. For all my life one thing has been true.....you own it or you don't.
One time my wife, mother and I bought a beautiful piece of property on Lee Creek, outside Van Buren. Such a gorgeous place, such a great price. We would drive over and sit on our property and watch the water flow by emptying in the Arkansas river a few miles on down the line. We had blanket picnics and (blush) wifey and I went skinny dipping one evening...
Oh...it was so nice! But after making 4 or 5 payment we found out the nice man we bought the property from didn't own it. In fact...it wasn't even for sale.
The Republican Party stole the 2000 and the 2004 elections. At this late date proof keeps piling up. Clearly the 2004 Ohio results were cooked, only now are we understanding how and by who.
This means George W. Bush had no right to be President these last 6 years, no more than I had a right to built a little A frame house on some property I thought I have bought on Lee Creek.
I must ask....how come my plans were crushed due to a lack of ownership on my part, yet Bush continues to be President without the legal ownership of the position?
Let's reset the clock to January 19th, 2001 and make a fresh start. God.....wouldn't things get instantly better?

"Let's reset the clock to January 19th, 2001 and make a fresh start. "... DBI
methinks thou hast the makings of a good campaign platform there... now to find a DEM (or GOP or 3rd) who will say "I propose enacting legislation in my first 100 minutes/hours/days (or by EO) resetting every law, tax rate, regulatory rule etc. to those in effect on 19 January 2001"
hell i might even go vote for that (and i don't vote)

>hell i might even go vote for that (and i don't vote)<
Please don't tell me that. In Fayetteville the richest developers in Ark just won an election with ONE friggin vote, now they won't have to pay for the huge congestion problems they have created.
Springdale got it's welfare baseball stadium last year with a revised total of 8 votes.
This year it faces a $1.6 million shortfall in school funds but is spending $50 mill building a baseball stadium.
