Whoa is me... another football season ends...

Oh, dear baby Jesus, dear 8lb. 6oz. baby Jesus, sweet tiny baby Jesus, please bless the Arkansas Razorback football team as they head into the great unknown that is the off-season.  Please allow our talented quarterbacks to improve their field vision, learn to make good decisions and use the natural talents your Father has bestowed upon them.  Oh sweet, lovable, Gerber-like baby Jesus, please allow Darren McFadden and Felix Jones to remain uninjured and not to go out to "nightclubs" till 4 A.M., when they are only 20 years old, and get into "scuffles" that might hinder their lateral movement and endanger their Heisman hopes.  Oh this little piggy went to market, baby Jesus, please allow Houston Dale Nutt, our brother in command of this team, to realize he must trust that his assistant coaches are not the devil and may have a better idea as to how to make 4 and 1, just once.  Infant, toddler, baby Jesus, please allow our receivers and the defensive secondary, and as you as my witness, our special teams to play to the level of national champions on each game day this fall and not to fold unto themselves in the last 3 outings like a house of cards.  In your name we pray, Amen.

That's my prayer for the Hoggies, who were two games, TWO games, away from losing this game:

Alex Wood    Furthermore, there's talk of Alex Wood, Arkansas QB coach taking a position at UNC and taking Malzahn with him?  Okay, one, Gus, you wouldn't be in college coaching if you didn't have 4 all-star recruits to barter with last year.  Two, you have two of the best backs in the country, in the country; a Gatorade All-American QB you persuaded to follow you to the U of A, a top notch receiver you still haven't found a way to isolate in coverage, a monster Fullback, who we hope will be back, and a football team that was in the hunt, though briefly, for the National Championship - but you're thinking about leaving for UNC?  So you can build a program from the ground up or something?  Why don't you take a couple years to get into the groove.  I know the ACC looks ripe for the picking with Wake freakin Forest winning the conference title, but FSU and Miami are gonna be back with a vengeance, real soon, and it's not gonna be pretty.  There's a reason the basketball team gets all the press.  Three, Frank Broyles can only live so long, you might inherit this team one day....

Finally, congratulations  to the [grumble, grumble] University...[sonofabiatch] of...[Icandothis,I'mabigperson] Florida on holding both the Football and Basketball National Championships at the same time for the first time in NCAA history....could their week get any better, will the "Swamp" turn into cotton candy? Oh, wait, yeah, they squeaked by the upstart Hog basketball team last night in what would have been the greatest win of Stan Heath's career, eclipsing his former greatest win last Saturday over Alabama.  Surely the basketball team isn't going to start getting good too, that would be too much success on the Hill.  Well, there's always Razorback track...

Confidentially, that's my Razorback Football rant...
