Farmers Market relocates
Because of Riverfest, the River Market Farmers' Market will relocate for one day this weekend -- Saturday. City release:
LITTLE ROCK, AR (May 21, 2007) - The River Market Farmers' Market will be moving to their old location, the parking deck at 6th & Scott St. for one day only, Saturday, May 26, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"In an effort to give Riverfest more room and to accommodate the farmers and our customers, members of the Farmers' Market decided to move the market for one day only" said Shannon Light, River Market Manager. Moving to the old location and away from the festival is a positive move that will allow our customers the chance to shop the Farmers' Market without paying an admission fee to the festival and offer closer parking. "The Farmers' Market was very limited on space during the festival and many of our vendors were unable to come to the market leaving them with lot of produce during prime growing season, this decision to move will allow everyone a chance to set up and sell during this busy holiday weekend" said Light.
The Farmers' Market will return to their River Market location on Tuesday, May 29.
