No, not that Buffalo. We’re talking about the fish. Carpenter’s Produce at the Corner of Martin Luther King and
Small dinner = $6.50 and the large is $9.75. All dinners are served with fries, slaw or baked beans.

Here's the Buffalo Fish Ribs- Very unique and delicious. Highly recommended.
Here's the Catfish- They cook it right. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
This is the same family from Grady, Arkansas that sets up in the River Market. They sell their produce at this stand the rest of the time. Currently, there's some produce here but not a whole lot. They expect a good bit more in the coming days, however. The scuttlebutt is that they're thinking about selling this place, so get down here and get yours before its too late.

Belly Boy: No reason to be sorry- we're definetly on topic since you'll notice that most, although not all, of my posts will focus on good, inexpensive food to be found throughout the city and beyond. The food here at Carpenter's is piled high and two can easily split a six piece. I'm on a budget too, ya know.

I've eaten much buffalo (along with crappie and catfish) at my daddy's fish camp at Longview on the Saline River (before the warnings of mercury-laden fish). Despite its reputation as a bottom fish, I've always enjoyed buffalo and found it to have a cleaner taste than catfish.
Now if we could get some enterprising soul to prepare carp. Must be good, the French love to eat it.

Been shopping at Carpenter's since they opened. Worth the trip to the corner of MLK and 17th. The Carpenter family are exceptional folks!
