The Arkansas Blog now and again mentions Argenta News, a community-oriented blog covering North Little Rock. Today, it's got restaurant news. One piece is a commentary on the advantage Valentine's restaurant in the new Travelers' ballpark enjoys compared with competitors that receive no overhead subsidy in the form of a taxpayer-built facility. Scott Miller also news of a new restaurant in NLR:
Fat Boys Cafe located at 318 Main Street (next to Cornerstone) will open for business on Tuesday morning at 7:00 am, pending a satisfactory health inspection Monday. I have a copy of a draft menu and the prices are very reasonable. Breakfast fare will include biscuits & gravy, waffles, bagels, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon. Prices range from $1.95 for two waffles to $4.95 for the breakfast plate, which includes two eggs, toast and two pieces of sausage or bacon.
Lunch will include dawgs or varying types, including, Ballpark, Big Texan, Chili, German and Veggie dawgs. Other lunch offerings include: grilled cheese, PB&J, Big salad, salsa and chips, quesidillas and a special of the day. Reportedly the soda fountain will be self serve with free refills. Lunch prices vary from $1.95 to $5.95 for the big salad.
