Deep Fun
I give you Gusano's "Grub's Choice" Deep Dish Chicago Style Pizza- Sausage, Pepperoni, Mushrooms, onions, and Green Peppers. All topped with a zesty red sauce.
President Clinton Avenue in the River Market District. Service is spotty (we had to run down our own plates), the decor is questionable, and they can't quite seem to figure out if they want to be a restaurant or a bar. But the pizza, they got that figured out. Piled high and tasty, this is a close to the windy city as you're getting in Central Arkansas. There was enough Pizza in the small size for two people- for two meals. And better yet, they're open Sunday. Full Bar.
Has anyone been to their lunch buffet?

I much prefer the non-Chicago style. The gallon of marinara (albeit it a great, chunky version vs. ketchup-plus) just overwhelms the rest of the ingredients. On the non-Chicago you can taste the sausage, mushrooms, onions, etc., much better.
I have done the lunch buffet a couple of times. Don't trust myself there, given that I always eat more than I can eat at an all-you-can-eat. But it's great. No wimpy pizza here -- fully loaded just like the regular by-the-order stuff. There is salad. No trencherman would waste stomach space with rabbit food when gooey pie is abundant.

Have to second what Big Fun says. Their lunch buffet is quite fine. Makes me both sad and glad I actually work in Conway so I can't go often. Yes, I know we now have a Larry's....I can't go THERE often either.
Normally I'm fairly sensible about the amount of food I eat. A pizza buffet--especially a GOOD one--throws that totally out the window.

On the Pizza front, King Pizza is back in Fayetteville. The son of the original owner has dad's recipes and is open out on 62 West across from the Ozark Mountain Smokehouse, almost to Farmington, on the north side of the highway.
The pizza is great. It may remind you of the '70s or '80s, but the taste is fresh if nostalgic. Lots of cheese, spicy sauce, airy crust, cut in squares. Pillows of pizza.

Now that looks like something right down my alley!!!!
Lot's of red sauce....lot's of toppings....and heck who needs crust?
I am one of those guys whose antenna perked up when he saw Steve Martin in "The Jerk" with what I had always thought was my invention in his & Bernadette's greasy little palms...
"Pizza in a Cup"!
All toppings and sauce!

Whoscrumdown -- best pizza news I've heard in a while. I useta LOVE King Pizza. "Pillows" is a great description. That's the first place I ever had Canadian Bacon + Pineapple. Next time I'm in Fayetteville I'm going back, jack.

There was a King's Pizza on Cantrell for awhile in the 80's.
