On a steak-out
My son and I last night sampled Arthur's Prime Steakhouse, Jerry Barakat's new entry in the Rahling Road space where he once had Jasmine's. (It's now rolled into the operation with Sesame's next door).
I didn't bring a camera, sadly. But we'll have a full review in the Times next week. Prime and even-more heavily marbled wagyu beef from Australia is expensive ($29 for prime rib to $50 for the wagyu filet) but it was excellent. Cooked and seasoned right. Other standouts -- truffle fries, peanut butter chocolate mousse with a side dish of banana ice cream and a huge wine list. As for wine, you can have the $300 Penfold Grange. I thought the $7-a-glass malbec was perfect with the meat.
Everything is a la carte -- no complimentary salad bar here. So be sure you have plenty of room on the credit card.
