So what is/was for dinner?

Always curious what those in the Times blogosphere chose for their evening meal, especially on an otherwise uneventful "school" night (or "work" night, I guess). With an afterwork meeting of a non-profit board we're on, time was tight, so we threw off some whole-wheat penne in some boiling water (tossing it later with a bit of butter and grated parmesan), reheated two well-herbed grilled boneless/skinless chicken breasts (sliced thin on the bias)and asparagus from last night, tossed some romaine with a homemade vinaigrette we keep in a jar on the kitchen windowsill (white wine vinegar, olive oil, salt, pepper, lemon juice) and toasted up a couple of crumpets (Farm Country -- 60 cals apiece, find them by the cheese at Kroger in the Heights). Nice semi-healthy meal: 9 minutes from the moment the pasta water boiled.

And you?

Wish I could be more exciting tonight, Big...

mrs. rosso had an omelet that looked absolutely fantastic (I was late and in trouble as usual)...

The Simple Three Egg Omelet (add whatever but mrs uses cheddar, black pepper, hot sauce and the usuals...)

I had leftover pizza and fried chicken...

Thankfully, my sweet wife also made a batch of brownies...yes!

spinach calzone. kind of sad, actually.

went to a dinner party and the meal was very simple but delicious - lots of different pizzetas prepared on a pizza stone plus salad, dessert and lots of wine

I don't have a fair answer tonight because I'm eating on the company's dime. But in communion with my blog friends here I'll allow that I had the Tilapia Fish Masala with Basmati rice, mixed greens salad, melon, and wonderful naan. I ordered the "regular" tea, rather than spiced. It surprisingly came in a bottle with a $4 price tag.

Fancy.

Tuscan chicken and beans (chick, cannelini beans, rosemary, sundried tomatoes, enough broth to make it saucy) and sugar snap peas. Not exciting, but good and (since I'm trying to weigh less) healthy.

Where did Hugh eat???

I'm in Orange County, California. Has nothing to do with Arkansas, I realize, but the blog is one conduit to home and friends.

We're fixing the monthly Rogan Josh chicken curry (sorry, family abhors lamb). A bitch to prepare but mighty fine eatin'

Some kind of Polynesian-marinated grilled pork tenderloin with grilled pineapple chunks on the side. A new recipe the better half found online. Not bad.

And tonight? Artichoke-garlic hummus and pita chips with sea salt, followed up by one square of a highly-indulgent bar of dark, DARK chocolate.

Could I live on appetizers and dessert? Yeah. Pretty much. I think hubby is baking potatoes right now, though.
