Sunday Suds
The weekend is upon us and I have a question. But first-
Pictured below is our last Sunday's trip to U.S. Pizza in Hillcrest. The Pizza was Owen's Sundried Tomato Pesto Chicken -
Olive oil, tomato pesto, spinach, chipotle chicken, white cheddar cheese, Monterey jack cheese, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, purple onions, green peppers and diced tomatoes.
Note the beer-

My question is this- many of us enjoy a libation on Sunday afternoon with our meal, and this can be difficult if dining out in Arkansas. Many restaurants are outright closed, while others don't have a Sunday alcohol license. I find that Mexican and Pizza places are the best bets. Margaritas on Sunday afternoon on the deck at Casa Manana can be sublime. Bosco's has a wonderful Sunday jazz brunch. Faded Rose also comes to mind. Got any other ideas?

I'd throw in Pizza Cafe...my favorite pizza and frozen mugs...
But US has those GIANT mugs...
I'm going to the 'fridge right now and getting a cold one while watching the US Open...all this talk about beer!

Vino's is open until 9 pm on Sundays, no?
Vino's Special (trade jalapenos for bell peppers) and a stout or two is my fave.

I like to combine vigorous TV sports watching with my Sunday suds-ing. Throw in some serious waitress gazing and you've got an enjoyable afternoon. Two great spots for all of the above are West End and Gusano's. More comfy and TV quantity/placement friendly at West End, and the food there is underrated (chili nachos are a load and burger is top-notch). Gusano's non-Chicago style pizza is the clear food star, though. Great Italian sausage. Homemade and full o' fennel!

Shoot, not only can you drink at Vino's, you can take some home on Sundays. Lovely.

Ummm, if you have not spent a Sunday Afternoon on the patio at El Porton and counted how many people try to go to Hobby Lobby (which has always been closed on Sunday) you have not lived.
