Pie, oh my

David Simmons weighs in with one of his periodic photo forays to fine food of Arkansas.

This slice of delicious homemade goodness -- southern peanut butter silk pie -- is courtesy of the family operated Wade Lucas Farms Store along Hwy. 16 approaching Shirley, Arkansas. Take Highway 65 like you're heading towards Branson. On the north side of Clinton, there will be the Hwy. 16 turnoff that will take you towards Fairfeld Bay. The newly opened cabin style store sits on the right side of the highway down in a valley just before reaching Shirley.

$2.25/slice or $18.00/whole pie. Advance orders are accepted on whole pies.

They also sell watermelons, cantaloupes, and other fruits and vegetables raised on their farm in addition to some pies and cakes. There is some indoor seating available and an outdoor seating area is under construction.
