Burger time

Hubcapburger is back with an entry in our reader photo contest. Says he:

Mojo's Dairy Bar is located at 3801 MacArthur Blvd in North Little Rock not far from the Pike Avenue on I-40. Here's a look at the sufficiently greasy Jumbo Double Cheeseburger. Not in Cotham's or Feltner's Whattaburger league, but pretty tasty for a walk up burger stand. The burger was around $3.35 and compares well to Sonic.

David, you are a true hamburger gourmet. We should have a homemade burger contest of some kind!

I see that the bun is grilled, a sign of a true burger. Man, it's early, but I'm lickin my chops over that photo!

Speaking of great burgers, Vermillion deserves a major shout-out for their fabulous Feta Cheeseburger I just tried for lunch today. Comes with batter-dipped fries (heavenly) or a cup of soup (four choices each day). The burger was cooked to medium-well perfection and served with shaved onions and an absolutely delectable sun-dried tomato dressing. For someone who strictly keeps her red meat/burger intake at a bare minimum, this was well worth the slight variation in daily allowances. It was- in a word- perfect. Lunch for two came to the ultra-low price of $15. AND, even though we were ticketed for parking in the lot that Vermillion's daily email assured us was free, their professional staff insisted on taking care of the ticket for us. If that's not awesome customer service, I don't know what is.

Feta burgers ARE awesome. My husband makes one that has bleu cheese (maybe Stilton? I don't remember, but it's not terribly strong, because I don't like harsh bleu cheeses) pocketed inside the patty. It's to die.

CJ's Burgers in Russellville is awesome! Better than the overated Whatta-Burger. CJ's is a goldmine of beef greatness. It's all they sell is Burgers and fresh cut fries. They also have a great Strawberry Shake.
For Burgers in LR, The Hop is great and probably my favorite. I also love Buffalo Grill!
