Fall Food

Tis the season.  Pumpkins are outside at Kroger in Hillcrest.

Halloween candy begins to proliferate at work.

So I thought it might be fun to start talking about fall food.   Oktoberfest sausage recipes for example.  Sauerkraut anyone?  Certainly a good pumpkin pie recipe is always welcome.  How about a tip on where to buy a good one?

Pumpkin chili. My own personal variation on shepherd's pie, that uses a recipe for New Zealand Mince as the base, with carrots and shallots, and a crust of savory mashed sweet potatoes. Fall squash dishes galore, which are more a labor of love for my family than me, because...meh. If someone has a great squash casserole recipe, I'd love to have it. It's hubby's fave thing to order at Dixie Cafe.
