Lost in the mix
Some good restaurants can go overlooked by even the best of us. When in the Riverdale area of Little Rock, I tend to gravitate towards the Faded Rose- and for good reason. In doing so, I tend to neglect other worthwhile dining establishments, such as Pizza Cafe.
The Italian Sausage and Veggie pizza-

And a small pepperoni and sausage-

I like the hand tossed crust, the abundant toppings, the good service, and the relatively inexpensive brew prices. The pies are simple here, there's relatively little in the way of experimentation, but that's just fine with me. It's a great laid back place to hang out with a few good friends and enjoy the evening. Downside- its drafty as heck on a fall or winter night. Sit away from the door.
Got a place you feel gets overlooked, maybe even by yourself?

I realize this really isn't an answer to the question of which places get overlooked, but it's worth mentioning that they just started serving lunch- and should definitely NOT be overlooked by food lovers.
Lucky you if you live/work in Hillcrest- Ferneau is now open for lunch. Haven't tried the food yet, but given the consistency of Donnie Ferneau's culinary mastery, I'd bet money that it's nothing short of awesome. The menu is simple and concise. Even better- I'm pretty sure there's not a single item that sells for more than $10. Offerings include a whopping burger, a Turkey Rueben, and a pulled Chicken Quesadilla- with some sort of roasted tomato salsa, Grilled Cheese, their (fabulous) Tomato Soup, salads, etc.
I'm stoked.
All of my favorite lunch spots are clearly the favorite of heaps of customers: Starving Artist, Vermillion, Wasabi. Lulav has a very reasonably priced lunch menu. And it tastes damn good, too.

In a city WITH WAY TOO MANY FREAKING PIZZA RESTAURANTS (a rant for another day, i suppose), Pizza Cafe is by far the best of the bunch.

Don't overlook Luigi's on Chicot road for pizza or pasta.

For all that our more cosmopolitan friends might say we live in the sticks, LR has some really good places to eat. I've lived in Central AR since 1989 and I've never been to Pizza Cafe. Heck, I used to live within blocks of it and always would say "I need to stop in there" but never did. I see that was much to my loss.
I also have to admit, it's been a while since I went to Faded Rose. Our local restaurants--GLAD WE GOT 'EM!

I second all endorsements of Pizza Café, and I'm sorry I don't make it over there more often.
Ferneau is so close to my house, yet I've never even made it there for dinner. The lunch menu sounds intriguing, though, and I'm tempted.
