Aficionado
aficionado (From Webster)
The Belly Boy, dear reader, is an aficionado of Taco Trucks. But you probably already guessed that.
On a cold day, the Tacos El Cha Pulin truck at 65th and University hits the spot (sorry for the fuzzy pic- the weather was not cooperating).

Beef tacos at $1.25 each. Comes with limes, two grilled peppers, a grilled onion, and two hot sauces.

The $4 burrito comes with rice and beans.

Taking a peek inside...

This could very well be the best burrito I have found in town. Or maybe it was the dreary weather that made the warm and soft tortilla seem that much better. Its stuffed with onions, peppers, beef, rice, beans, tomatoes, and some herbs. The hot sauce is just that- HOT (but tasty). Put this taco stand on your "to do" list. They're open from 10-9 every day.

HMMMM, that would hit
the spot on this cold,
foggy night. They could
drive that truck over to
the Spa for a little action.
Guess I'm an aficionado of
all things country cajun....
talkin about bayou cookin,
not the city fare. Mine
starts with, "first you
make a roux."

If I haven't sampled every taco truck in town it's not from lack of trying.
But this is the one. It's the one I keep coming back and back to. The red and green salsas are first-rate. The grilled onion is wonderfl lagniappe. The $4 burrito plate maybe the best food bargain in these United States. I want some now.

When I was a little girl,
in Camden, an old Black
gentleman pushed a cart of
piping hot homemade
tamales all over town. They
were wrapped in real corn
shucks then when sold
wrapped in newspaper to
bring home. What a happy
feast when daddy or g'pa
came home with that
bundle of newspaper.
