A whopper

Kat Robinson of Tie Dye Travels is on the food trail again. She found this humongo burger at the old school Ed Walker's drive-in (beer! even) in Fort Smith. Click her link for more.

I think the term "OMG" must have been coined for the burger pictured here -- a five-pound cheeseburger that conquers the bun, not to mention the six people who sat down and attempted to eat this monstrosity.  It's a feature item on the menu at Ed Walker's in Fort Smith.  And it's truly the largest burger I have encountered in Arkansas.  Ever.

Burger looks huge, but it doesn't look 5 pounds huge. Guess it is, though. Truth in advertising. The greasy sheen on the bun top is the coup de grace.

i was born in 1950 and it has been there all of my life. i don't remember the burger. it had always been famous for the french dip. the burger must be new. the french dip is tremendous. it is still the only drive in that serves beer due to the age of the lisense.

BF, I don't think you can get the proper perspective with that pic. I lived in the Fort during the late 80's and shared one of these monsters on more than one occasion. They are about the size of a 15 inch pizza and a quarter of one is as big as any hubcap burger I've ever had.

Zonker, they had had this big burger for several years when I got there, so its at least a 20 year old tradition, probably more like 25 or 30, but I understand, I call things from the 80's new all the time.
