So long Mama Bea's

News release (on jump) says Mama Bea's, the burger place that got its start as an adjunct to an Asher Ave. tire repair shop, is closing on 12th St. and moving to Dallas for possible franchising. Read it on the jump. A reasonable facsimile to the Mama Bea burger will still be sold by a member of the family at another burger restaurant at Kanis and Shackleford.

NEWS RELEASE

IT'S OFFICIAL...Mama Bea's Big Burgers Inc. of Little Rock HAS SIGNED a deal with a New York franchising firm and is moving to Dallas. The company is considering accepting outside investment to ease the transition and for logistical purposes. A group or family of experienced restaurateurs in the Dallas area is to be among the first to buy a Mama Bea's franchise. THE 12th St. LOCATION

MAMA BEA'S HAS CALLED HOME FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS IS NOW CLOSED AS OF 1/27/08.

Mama Bea's official website, ( www.mamabeas.com ), declares "where ever we go, Little Rock is home." It also goes into further detail about the transition from popular mom & pop to nationally franchised restaurants, as well as how interested parties can become involved. "Innovative Franchise Systems", (Madison, Ave. New York), is the name of the company that will help to bring an old Arkansas favorite to new national notoriety.
