Oh, deer

Belinda over at Ninja Poodles decides deer can be rendered edible, including in the venison pot roast above. I still might prefer the polenta part of the plate.

No one was surprised-er than me. But judging from my taste-test of the thigh roast, I'm thinking that this single cut--the "backstrap"--might be the only part of the animal I like to eat. Husband may be in for a lot of solitary venison meals if none of the rest of it tastes this good.
