More dining at Shackleford Crossing
Shackleford Crossing has a number of new restaurants set to soon begin construction. National chains Copeland’s Famous New Orleans Restaurant and Bar, Texas Roadhouse and Zaxby’s and local concepts Samurai Steakhouse and Panda Chinese Buffet have all signed leases with Clary Development, according to the retail management group’s president, Sean Glancy. That leaves room for at least four more restaurants at the retail center, Glancy said.
I've never been to any of the national chains. Not even Texas Roadhouse. Copeland's is supposed to be good.

There are Zaxby's in Jonesboro, Blytheville and Paragould. All are doing a brisk business and giving the KFCs a run for the money. Quite tasty chicken "fingers" (ugh, I hate that adjective), but the fries are nothing to write home about. Crinkle cut with chili powder sprinkled on them.

I love Copeland's. My New Orleans friends make fun of me about it. The one in Rogers is the only one I've been to except the original one on St. Charles and Napoleon, and it seemed much more expensive and not as good. For example, they took the oysters out of the Pasta Tasso Lasso. I guess ersters just don't sell so well here up north. I think they reduce the cayenne in everything too, like the Popeye's do here up north.

I tried the Zaxby's in Sherwood and fell in love with fried mushrooms.

To use a favorite phrase of my ol' daddy, "where in the ornbread hell" is Shackleford Crossing?

Shackleford Crossing is the new shopping center on S. Shackleford, just S. of 440. It has the new Penney's store, but not much else, if you are a Cracker Barrell fan they have set up shop there as well.

I'm with LIndsey - Never been to any of those chains. I try to avoid national chains and eat at locally owned restaurants.
