Comings and goings

Coming soon: A third Faded Rose location. Ed David will expand his mini-chain with a new restaurant in North Little Rock’s Argenta district, on Sixth and Main, across from Argenta Seafood. Preliminary plans for the building, which will be built from the ground up, include a large dining room, a private room, a patio area and a larger kitchen than the other locations.

Longtime North Little Rock staple Rick and D’s Fisher’s Cafe has closed. Ditto for Scapetto’s Deli in the River Market.

Comments

I've been a fan of the Faded Rose for more than 20 years and I'm sad to say the food quality has declined over the last 24 months or so. Maybe the new restaurant will give Ed the spark to restore the Rose to its former glory.

I haven't had any bad food at Faded in the last two years, but maybe I've just been lucky. Living downtown, this location will be a little closer than the old standby on Rebsamen. I'll look forward to trying it out!

As for Scappetto's, I never actually ate an entree there and thus can't say much, but I will whole-heartedly mourn the loss of nearby, tasty cannolis.

Extremism in support of private insurers is no virtue, and President Bush was defiantly unvirtuous in resisting a Medicare bill that preserves and strengthens government-funded health care for elderly Americans. /more/
