Get on board: Downtown dining

Starting June 18 (today!) Chow Downtown, a 10-day event sponsored by the Little Rock Downtown Partnership, will begin.

If you have been looking for a good excuse go downtown and see what you’ve been missing, it has arrived. Participating restaurants will be running big discounts and special deals on both food and drink. All you have to do is show up and mention “Chow Downtown” to your server.

Some of the participating restaurants including Capital Bar & Grill, Capriccio Grill, Copper Grill & Grocery, Crush Wine Bar, Mike Selig’s Vermillion, Ristorante Capeo, Sticky Fingerz, Sufficient Grounds, Sonny Williams Steak Room and  more.  And with 10 whole days and nights, you’ll have time to visit them all.

A Word to the Wise...

You won't have many folks participating in "Chow Downtown" unless you clearly state what type of "deals" they're getting. I clicked through to the link and there's even less information than what's listed here.

When Argenta did the same concept--Argenta Restaurant Week--it was clearly displayed that people would recieve a three-course meal from the participating restaurants at either $15 or $25, depending on how nice the restaurant was.

I don't think I will be heading out to any of these restaurants unless I know what I'm getting...

Ditto.

I think I'm just gonna call around and ask.

We've got a Bday this weekend to celebrate and I'm looking for something different.

Here's what is posted on their ad:

Downtown Deli: buy one entre, get one entre free
Copper Grill: 3 course dinner $21.95
Community Bakery: any Espresso drink with lunch for $1/any dessert w/dinner for $1
Sufficient Grounds: buy 1 drink of choice, get 1 free breakfast or lunch
Capital Bar: $6 lunch (11:30-2) half sandwich + choice of cup of soup or salad + iced tea
Boulevard Bread: buy 1 coffee or espresso, get 1 free
Sonny Williams: buy 1 dessert, get 1 free
Vermillion: buy 1 entree, get 1 appetizer free
Capriccio Grill: buy1 dessert, get 1 free (with purchase of lunch or dinner)
Willy D's: Weds-bring your mug & fill it for $1, $1 Martinis for ladies, $3 Jagarbombs / Thurs - $8 domestic buckets, $10 import buckets, $1 wine
Sticky Fingers: buy 1 Sticky Fingerz basket, get 1 basket free
Lulav: buy 1 lunch, get 1 lunch free / buy 1 dinner appetizer or dessert get 1 free (with purchase of entree)
Crush: buy 1 appetizer, get 1 free
Rumba: buy 1 appetizer, get one free
Ristorante Capeo: 3 full courses fixed priced menu $29 (dinner only)

Any of these places (except Capriccio) open on Sunday? Sunday lunch?

I think Rumba is the only place that's open Sunday lunch. Be sure to look at the Tapa's menu since their special is for appetizers. All are good. Skip the cheese dip on the regular menu. The wait staff isn't always up-to-speed on the specials, so you may have to remind them of B1G1 deal (annoying, but not the end of the world).
