Anybody been to Woody's?

Good enough for books.

The Waldenburg restaurant recently landed in David Gelin's "BBQ Joints: Stories and Secret Recipes from the Barbecue Belt," along, presumably with some other Arkie favorites.

I don't have the book, only the lovely picture above.

Before I got this in the mail, I'd never heard of Waldenburg or Woody's.

Probably hadn't been living right.

Waldenburg, lovely little stop-over between Newport and Jonesboro. Has a cute little church and railroad tracks... and Woody's.

I didn't realize Woody's was now selling their sauce. I just know the place for being a good stop-in joint at the four-way stop where Highway 14 meets Highway 49. It's been years since I dropped by, but I do remember the half bird and side of roasted corn on the cob... juicy.

The parents live in NE AR and we generally get a call on the way to see them asking if we can stop by Woody's if it's open. It's some darn fine 'cue.

Try Woody's dry seasoning on any meat or even in Bloody Mary's. It's FANTASTIC! I have bought it at Sam's for a couple of years. Go get some. You won't be disappointed.

Does anyone else wince at the word "'cue"?
