Eat Dessert First.

Gateau Moka Cafe Bossa Nova Eat Arkansas.jpg

After taking in an excellent production of "It's A Wonderful Life" at the Rep, the hubster and I found ourselves looking for a relaxing non-alcoholic (read:  sweet) nightcap to share before heading back home.  We found ourselves wandering Kavanaugh and fell into Cafe Bossa Nova, where we dined on creamy hot chocolate and rich desserts, including this fine hot-and-cold Gateau Moka, a crisp chocolate brownie with a cinnamon undertaste topped with ice cream.

Fine dining for many of us is limited to those occasions where a sustaining repast is desired.  But does it have to be?  Where do you like to go to satisfy your sweet tooth?  Or do you visit a certain restaurant for another non-entree specialty, like a particular drink or good coffee?  Share your experience in our comment section.

Bread pudding from the Faded Rose. There isn't another desert in this town that compares. Heavenly and decadent, it's perfect in every way.

I posess every vice in the book except a sweet tooth.

Ice cream at Acadia, the chocolate cake or tiramisu at Macaroni Grill, ANY dessert from Silvek's.

I'm with Bop on this. I would really rather have another appetizer or entree to dessert! I get much more pleasure out of the savory than the sweet.

Now if the dessert is tart or bitter, I am game! (See also my preference for gin& tonics or Campari)

As far as non-entree fulfillment - Sometimes I just have to go to Leos for hummus (We've had this conversation before). Singapore SLings are best from Conan at Midtown. Coffee? Not really. The Living Room (and the long departed Cafe D) is the last place I craved coffee.
