'Cue contest

Smokers and lovers of barbecue, mark your calendar. The “Smoke on the Water” USA Barbecue Championship is coming to the Clinton Presidential Center on March 13-14. With cash prizes totaling $50,000, it’s one of the richest ’cue events in the world. Organizer Ronnie Cates expects some 150 teams to participate and promises that the cook-off will be the “nation’s premier barbecue event.”

There’ll be music, too, with .38 Special, Big Smith, Tragikly White and Bon Jovi tribute band Bad Medicine performing.
