The Long Nightmare Is Almost Over

Although I'm sure lots of people think I'm 100% Democrat, liberal, it simply isn't the truth. I  early voted and my election choices included a Republican and a Green Party candidate. Republicans aren't bad people, at least 99% of them, they are just, misguided and need to be pointed in the right election, I mean direction. I saw a great quote the other day, "You can't talk someone out of something he wasn't talked into."   I don't believe that is always true, but there is a lot of truth in that statement.

Therefore, even here in Arkansas, 40% will pretty much vote Democrat in every election no matter what, and 40% will be voting Republican - its that crucial center that matters, the 20% sweet spot. As always, both parties still have to get their own people to the polls which seems to be happening.

After  -will all be over - except for the shouting. Will anything really change after the whiners take office next year?  I think so.  As I have predicted, Beebe will win with 51%.
I think he will bring a much needed humbleness to the office - I think he won't be distracted by delusions of being President. I think he will have a "thick skin" like Huckabee claims he has. He won't be so petty as to blackball certain news organizations. No more accepting 100's of suits from Jennings Osborn ( I wonder what happened to the good Rev.'s "oversized" suits ? )  No more excessive used of the "working papers" exception to FOI although there is such thing as working papers. No more free trips on airplanes provided by the Lord's Ranch. Beebe I predict will be more hands on-  not a bystander in the legislative process like Huckabee tends to be. It will be nice to have a Governor more interested in Arkansas than Washington D.C. Who won't embarrass us by going on Don Imus all the time. Who won't live in a trailer on the Governor's Mansion grounds. A Governor who wants to be Governor.

This is a great quote from Susan Hutchinson. "When I was growing up there were tow things my mom taught me that Christians don't do. That was going into politics and becomming a lawyer."                If only Asa were a better Christian..........

I'll give them this.  The pointy-headed right wing nut jobs spend a lot of time on the computer making crazy anti-Beebe campaign "commercials."   Most of them are just offensive, but this one is - insane, but not offensive.
