Buzzmeter, without the fuzzy math

If you allocate points based on each critics ranking (1=5, 2=4, 3=3, 4=2, 5=1) and give each critics picks equal weight (that is Tom O'Neil's rankings aren't weighted heavier than Richard Roeper's) then here's what you come up with.

Best Actor (under the BSR formula)

1.  Forest Whitaker, 2. Peter O'Toole, 3. Will Smith, 4. Leonardo DiCaprio, 5. Brad Pitt.

Best Actress

1.  Helen Mirren, 2. Penelope Cruz, 3. Kate Winslet, Judi Dench (tie), 5. Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep (tie)

Best Picture

1.  Babel, 2. The Queen, Dreamgirls (tie), 4. The Departed, 5. Flags of Our Fathers

Compare my list with the Buzzmeter.

Thanks for doing the math, Moviegoer. I thought about it for 10 seconds; decided it was too much trouble. Odd that they aren't going with Bening and have Streep only 5th in Best Actress. I will GUARANTEE you they are not going to nominate a slate of no American women. That's why I'm sticking with Bening & Streep...one of the others will be pushed out.
