'Love in the Time of Cholera'

Mike Newell ("Four Weddings and a Funeral") is bringing Gabriel Garcia Marquez' novel to the big screen.  The film is produced by Scott Steindorff ("The Human Stain," "Empire Falls") and carries an impressive cast including: Javier Bardem, John Leguizamo, Benjamin Bratt, Catalina Sandino Moreno ("Maria Full of Grace"), and Liev Schreiber.  The cast also includes local actors that may be unfamiliar to American audiences including Italian actress Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Mexican American Laura Harring ("Mulholland Dr.), Ana Claudia Talancón ("Fast Food Nation") and Angie Cepeda ("Love for Rent").  Brazilian director of photography Alfonso Beato ("The Queen"), and South African playwright and Oscar-winning screenwriter Ronald Harwood ("The Pianist") complete the filmmaking team.
