Leonardo DiCaprio's "global poisoning" documentary "The 11th Hour" screened this morning at the Cannes Film Festival. Jeff Wells sums up the consensus at the festival (assuming it's more than a consensus of one), "The general consensus among the journos is that Michael Moore's Sicko is a more engaging and persuasive piece of agitprop than 11th Hour, which offers a very dense and thorough assessment of how we're fucking the planet every which way, but at the same time is a little too crammed with information." Justin Chang, writing for Variety, notes, "True to its doom-laden title, global-warming doc "The 11th Hour" presents the viewer with reams of depressing data, loads of hand-wringing about the woeful state of humanity and, finally, some altogether fascinating ideas about how to go about solving the climate crisis."
