Today's the day for the expanded version of Quentin Tarantino's "Death Proof" at the Cannes Film Festival. By all accounts, the only added details include an alluded-to lap dance that wasn't featured in the "Grindhouse" version of the film. I loved the first version of this film, which contains a spectacular car chase as well as sharp dialogue and great music, both staples of Tarantino's best films. Rumors swirled prior to Cannes that "Death Proof" would get a re-release later this summer. Premiere's Glenn Kenny is "pleasantly surprised by how pleasurably it all goes down."
