I caught Charles Burnett's "Killer of Sheep" this weekend (I missed it at the Little Rock Film Festival). In short, I thought it was marvelous moviemaking. I've yet to see a film that so encapsulates - at least a vividly and as honestly - the life in the ghetto. I can see why it took this film three decades to gain wide distribution; the music makes the film, and getting the rights was critical. It is a must see for any true movie lover.
