A.O. Scott of The New York Times provides us with another thoughtful and well-written reviews. Here he reviews Sean Penn's latest film "Into the Wild," based on the book by Jon Krakauer and starring Emile Hirsch, Hal Holbrook, Vince Vaugh, Catherine Keener, William Hurt and Marcia Gay Harden.

This review follows a piece in last week's Sunday issue of the Times about the film. "Into the Wild" is a likely nominee for Best Cinematography, adapted screenplay and perhaps Best Picture.

Jon Krakauer talks to NPR's All Things Considered. Here's an interesting old piece from Outside magazine with Krakauer when the book was first released. The soundtrack features a lot of Pearl Jam lead man Eddie Vedder.

I have a friend in LA that saw a private screening with the cast and Penn a few weeks ago and he said it's the best movie he's seen in years. I'm excited to see it. Plus, Eddie Vedder did the entire soundtrack... Best Song? Best Soundtrack? He'll be nominated for something, you know he will.
