The Envelope over at The Los Angeles Times has amped up its Oscar coverage.  In a recent post, editor Tom O'Neil (of "Dreamgirls" love) takes a look at the Best Picture race.  He likes "Atonement," "Charlie Wilson's War," "Into the Wild," "Juno," "The Kite Runner," "Sweeney Todd" and "There Will Be Blood" to be the Top 7 going into the final voting.  O'Neil says "No Country for Old Men," is "too scary, too violent" to find its way into the Best Picture race.  What?  He also wonders is Sean Penn's decision to avoid the media for "Into the Wild" will bring him the same fate of Peter O'Toole in last year's "Venus".  Oprah Winfrey just announced that "Love in the Time of Cholera" is her next book club selection, so you have to think Mike Newell's adaption of the Gabriel Garcia Marquez novel will be on the minds of voters when it is released later this year.
