Liberal and Proud asks, "If you could see only one, BSR, which would it be?" That's an incredibly tough call. I received an e-mail a few moments ago from a trusted friend and he says that "Michael Clayton" is the best movie he's seen so far this year. It's high praise coming from this guy, so I have to take it seriously.
That said, I've been the most intrigued by Julie Taymor's "Across the Universe," which folks either seem to love or hate. If you like the Beatles and the uber talented Evan Rachel Wood, I'd suggest seeing it.
"Elizabeth: The Golden Age" is worth seeing for Cate Blanchett and the young and dynamic Abbie Cornish. However, the reviews are brutal, so you may not enjoy your experience all that much.
All that being said, the "best" film of the bunch may very well be "In the Shadow of the Moon," which is showing at Market Street. It's always nice to support Matt Smith's theater.
