Congratulations to Little Rock native Jeff Nichols on receiving the top prize at the Austin Film Festival for his film "Shotgun Stories."Lindsay Millar has information on his Rock Candy blog. Nichols' film has screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival (it also took top prize there), Newport, Chicago International Film Festival, Sydney and Berlin. Millar notes that the film should screen here before year's end (check the October/November schedule on the film's My Space page). Philip Martin of the Democrat-Gazette has seen it, and has nothing but very positive things to say. Here's a trailer for the film.
