Spike Jonze's big screen adaptation of Maurice Sendak's children's book "Where the Wild Things Are" finished shooting last December. However, with the exception of the still above, there's been little intel about the film . . .until now.  Big Screen Little Screen has details about the film, which combines "Big Bird" sized costumes with CGI.  Forest Whitaker, Catherine Keener, James Gandolfini, Michelle Williams and Catherine O'Hara all play a role in the film, whether live in Keener's case, or voice in the others.

Novelist Dave Eggers ("A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius," "What is the What") co-wrote the screenplay with Jonze, and it's now been confirmed that Eggers will release an adult novel based on "Where the Wild Things Are."  Says Dan Halpern, chief of Ecco publishing, "I think it's going to be his biggest book. I think it's going to be huge."  The novel will be released to coincide with the film sometime in 2008.
