It's going to be a good weekend for movies in Central Arkansas.  The adaptation of Philip Roth's novel "The Dying Animal" (the film version is titled "Elegy") starring Ben Kingsley and Penelope Cruz opens at Market Street Cinema"Appaloosa," the western from Ed Harris and also starring Viggo Mortensen opens here too.  "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" starring Michael Cera; "Blindness" starring Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore from the novel by Jose Saramago; and "Flash of Genius" starring Greg Kinnear about the guy who invented the windshield wiper round out the group.

Not many were shocked when Curtis Lavelle Vance was found guilty last week of capital murder, rape, residential burglary and theft of property in the October 2008 beating death of KATV anchor Anne Pressly. /more/
