AmyB's Gettin' Out: Thursday

And you're not gettin' out unless you're gettin' out where AmyB's gettin' out:

Major label rapper Slim Thug is at Bada Bing bar tonight. $20 if it hasn’t sold out. The Boss Hogg Outlaws will open at 10 p.m. 897-2112, and the bar is on East 145th Street.

Yes they’re from Batesville; but don’t judge ‘cause Gazer is a rock band. Despite what you may derive from their subgenre “Christian” name: they’re not “shoe-gazers,” they are rock: and they rock hard … nothing cheesy or soft ... and watch this band … especially considering that they’re doing a U.S. tour in May, including a date in the Continental Club in Austin. They're working their first full-length release with their new album featuring 13 songs and the album will be recorded at Fox Mountain studio in Brentwood, Tenn., to be released early this summer ... They’re at Juanita’s tonight along with Marca with Arthur Green (Living Sacrifice, Eso-Charis) on bass. Also: The Evidence.
It’s 9 p.m., all ages, $5.

Lessee what else….

Blue-collar poet rocker band Lucero is hitting the state's college towns, starting in Conway tonight (Soundstage, 8 p.m.) and in Fayetteville tomorrow (Dickson Theater, 7:30 p.m.). They have a new album out now titled “Attic Tapes.”

And we’re getting all the rocks out of our jelly shoes so we can dress to impress for the Scarlet Fashion Show tonight at Sticky Fingerz. We’ll see if we’ll want to go to the White Hot Party at Nu restaurant tomorrow if they carry higher than a size 7… we’re sure they’ll come through … at any rate, we plan on enjoying ourselves. We have yet to see Gwen Stefani’s new spring line up close and personal; perhaps we’ll now get the chance, maybe. I called the club and there is a cover charge of 10 bucks. It starts at 9 p.m.

Oh … we read a review of screamo band The Fall of Troy, appearing at Vino’s tonight, and they were compared to the Blood Brothers, which makes us think it could be worth checking out tonight. Also: The Number 12 Looks Heavy Heavy Low Low and Blackout Pact. They’ll start screamin’ at  7 p.m. All ages. $8.

And one more, we’re losing steam …Tammany Hall Machine at White Water Tavern. 10 p.m. $5.
