Alright, we’re building up for the weekend, here’s few thing to do to warm you up.Meet your match: Of course, the nice ladies with minds of steel meet tonight at Community Bakery downtown for the Women’s Chess Club. It’s free and starts at 5:30 after work.Ed Burks, you know as in the West Helena-born, collaborator with Ronnie Hawkins, etc. Plays every Tuesday night at Easy Street Piano Bar downtown.Here’s a link:He starts around 8:30 or so. No cover charge to attend, but we’re sure you’ll do the right thing and tip the dickens out of him.Hmmmm…we wonder how they got their name, the movie “American Pie,” comes to mind. Anyway, You can really say that you went to Bandcamp tonight at Sticky Fingerz. 9 p.m. ($5). You can check out their music at www.myspace.com/bandcamp.There’s the Tuesday night Rocker’s Revue at White Water, but we don’t know whose playing. But we do know that usually the bands are pretty young,local and artsy or punk-ish. It’s free starting at 10 p.m.Yep, local blues act Charlotte Taylor’s Gypsy Rain is tonight at the Press Box (behind UALR). 9 p.m., cover is $5. Ask her how it went last Sat., as the opening act to John Lee Hooker, Jr.
