Gettin' Out: Friday, with Will Hoge and more

This is out a little late, but you still have a couple of hours to suit up, step out and get out:

R&B queen Ramona Smith at The Afterthought tonight. $6 admits you at 8 p.m. remember, it’d non-smoking …

There’s a loco act tonight to match all the late-night locos tonight at Midtown:
Loco Macheen emerged from the college town of Emporia, Kan., with multiple personalities: As strange electronica-rock and funk Loco, it plays songs like “Gorillas” and “Nite Lites.” As jar-drinkin’ Dwayn Brothers, they’re a bluegrass band. The show looks promising for a wee-hours prowl. Private memberships are available at the door for $10. Members pay $3.

Ooohhh…I do love the smooth groove that Tim Anthony emits when he performs, with or without Afrodesia … he’s solo tonight at the Argenta Coffee Co., 318 Main St., North Little Rock. $5. Good cappuccino there, too.

And L.A.-rock, as you know L.A. rock can be with the Vacation.
I’ve noticed that Cornerstone is starting to book some really high quality entertainment, branching out a little from the great local acts of late.

Of course, there’ s Will Hoge making what’s becoming quite regular appearances, a good thing at Sticky Fingerz. Read Jim Harris's interview with him in Jim's column in this week's issue. Showtime is 9:30 p.m.-AmyB
