What happened to 'The Show With No Name' today?

Anybody know? We caught it after the 8 a.m. hour and after a few seconds of talk among Baz, Jimmy B and Joe Kleine that it was a show from May, just after the first round of the NBA playoffs. We learned that Cleveland had no chance against Detroit (Lebron he Cavs took the Pistons to a seventh game and could have closed them out in six at home), and that the Pistons and Suns were the teams to beat the rest of the way (both failed to advance their conference finals, as Miami and Dallas moved on and Miami won it all).

Anyway, apparently today was a show with no people, so they pulled a show from the recent past, apparently to show us how badly they can predict professional basketball. Today's not a holiday, maybe Tommy just needed another day off  from his recent neck surgery. Certainly there was someone available to come in and discuss such prevailing topics of interest out there like the NBA Draft and Ronnie Brewer, Gus Malzahn, Andre Agassi's retirement, Wally Hall's column on Sunday, the Arkansas Blog, the Cards' flop against the best in the AL Central, Beckham's bending it for England, Phil's choke, and so on. Couldn't we have just had six or seven hours of Justin and Nathan and Joe, instead of the mid-day three (which isn't near enough time for this trio and their timely comments)?

Maybe J.R. and Henry need their own show. Maybe we need to figure out a way to podcast J.R. and Henry. What do you think? Could listeners stand a sports talk show with that disguised-voice deal like they do for mob informants who come on "Nightline" and want to remain unidentified?

Comments

If I remember correctly, last week they were talking about being on vacation and Tommy said that they've got "best of" bits lined up all week long.

EDITOR: For outright humor, what I heard this morning took the cake for "best of" as in, Can you believe these guys said this. Tommy wasn't there to bash them that day, either.

Yeah, It's "best of" all week. They had the HDN interview from a couple of weeks ago on this morning. I got to thinking about it and remembered that both Baz and Tommy will be in Florida this week.

The old Safeway store at the corner of 12th and Cedar Streets doesn't look like much these days - a peeling blue hulk of a building, marooned between the Willie Hinton Community Resource Center and the church on the next corner. /more/

Tracy Ingle - who was shot five times by a North Little Rock SWAT team during a no-knock drug raid back in January - was slapped with a gag order during his first court appearance since a story about his case was published in the Arkansas Times on March 24. /more/

As Judge Wendell Griffen says, courage is not a vice (though critics seem to fault him for having it) but a virtue. /more/
