Matt Smith has post-concert cooldown going on in Colorado. Here's today's report:

After the throw down at the Def Leppard concert, we took it easy today. Our friend Stevie hung out with us today. She has made the remark that living here costs so much more than Arkansas. She has been here for a while now, and should know. You can see it everywhere. Gas and food costs more. Movie tickets are $9.50. So, there may not be a ton of things going on in Arkansas, but the cost of living has to be the least I have ever seen.

There are shopping choices here like the Virgin Records Mega Store, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue – choices Arkansas Times readers have said they want in Little Rock. A gargantuan shopping mall called Colorado Mills contains just about anything you want to buy. www.coloradomills.com. I would like to see a Ruth’s Chris or Morton’s steak house come to the Rock.

I worked like a pack mule all day! I had to saddle up and haul bags and boxes around every store in the Denver metro area! My suffering finally ended, and I could go to the game!! (No really, after the rafting, bungee jump, concert, etc…. I owe the girls a day of shopping.)

Now we are talking! I loved this ballpark. That’s right, you can’t buy a BUD so don’t even ask! The Colorado Rockies have a wonderful facility. The crowd was not huge. The game the night before went 18 innings. It was the third or maybe forth-longest game in MLB history, something over six hours. I think that thinned the crowd some on the following day. People in the stands also called this a football/hockey town. I was told that the Broncos and Avalanche are much more popular than the Rockies. This place is a mile above sea level, and the park contains a section to mark the exact spot. You can sit in the purple seat section to be 1 mile over it all. There is a spectacular view of Denver from the park. We had front-row seats, and after every inning the kids from the crowd ran down to the field and asked for baseballs.
