Chris Henry music video 'on its way'

Today, Little Rock guitarist-singer-songwriter Chris Henry's video for his song "On My Way" is the No. 2 top-rated music video for the month of September on Youtube.com.

We mentioned this earlier on this blog, but local musician Roland Gladden started making music videos and uploading them to youtube.com in recent months. He says it's really been for personal entertainment and didn't expect to get the results that the Chris Henry video has received. At last check this morning this vid had almost 18,000 hits. There are also some Sean Rock vids and a tribute to Fifth Cliff called "Melting" on his channel...click on his name after you view the video link.

Chris is playing tonight at Grumpy's. See you there..,

I'm so glad to see a favorite tune by a favorite guitarist getting out there to the world where it belongs. An excerpt from my review in the July/Aug issue of the Litte Rock Free Press: "Having one of those 'first day of the rest of your life' moments at one of his shows, the cut entitled "On My Way" rather became my own personal anthem. "Nothing stands in front of me except for possibilities", I often find myself singing under my breath." I want "Papa" Henry, Chris' dad to let me adopt, I don't know, just his earlobes or something so I can say "That's my baby up there!"

"Nothing stands in front of me except for possibilities" Second That! I often find myself thinking the very same quote from that song. Maybe that's what great songs have in common. Somebody give this kid a record deal!

The old Safeway store at the corner of 12th and Cedar Streets doesn't look like much these days - a peeling blue hulk of a building, marooned between the Willie Hinton Community Resource Center and the church on the next corner. /more/

Tracy Ingle - who was shot five times by a North Little Rock SWAT team during a no-knock drug raid back in January - was slapped with a gag order during his first court appearance since a story about his case was published in the Arkansas Times on March 24. /more/

As Judge Wendell Griffen says, courage is not a vice (though critics seem to fault him for having it) but a virtue. /more/
