The Mind of Matt: On DJ Hollywood, Rumba

Rocking man about town Matt Smith checks in with a report on his visit to Rumba and Revolution:

DJ Hollywood called me to tell me about his new digs.  He works at the new Rumba Revolution Room on President Clinton Avenue. Hollywood invited me down to check things out.

I stopped by on Tuesday. We got in around 5 p.m. for a look see. We had some
food from the restaurant, which offers a combo of Mexican and Cuban. The place looks nice, and the staff is very friendly. The food was great. Chips, cheese dip, steak – it all tasted great! They have Pacifico beer. However, I have a few requests: I want to see some Cabo Wabo Tequila (Sammy Hagar’s brand), sugar-free Red Bull, and of course Beck’s premiere light.

After the food, we checked out the bandstand, stage and dance floor. It really looks nice. They have done a tremendous job on remodeling the joint. The sofas look comfy and I really like the VIP area. I need to be in the place for a DJ Hollywood dance night, or a live band performance to get a true vibe. Unfortunately, I had other obligations Tuesday and couldn’t
stick around to see Supersuckers. I will be back! Hit ‘em up @
